Communication in those days A telephone and telegraph station came to Mollösund in the 1850s. There were spiteful rumours that the location of the station was for the benefit of the local governor, Count Albert Ehrensvärd, who had a summer residence in Mollösund. Member of Parliament Axel Ljungman put down a motion in 1885 to have the station moved to Varekil, where a central station was to be built. Connections would then be made to Ellös in Orust, Stockevik in Tjörn, Stenungsund and Mollösund. Ljungman had his request granted, and it was implemented in 1886.

Where is the chemist in Mollösund?

The ICA store near to Födkroken acts as a supplementary chemist, which means that they have a small chemist section with pain relievers, bandages, cream for grazes, etc. If you hand a prescription in there, deliveries of prescribed medicines are on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Is there a Systembolag (government-run off-licence)?

The ICA store near to Födkroken delivers on behalf of Systembolaget. Deliveries are on Tuesdays and Fridays, for orders placed no later than 5 p.m. the day before.

Is there a cash dispenser/can I draw out cash?
